The European Beer Star is one of the most important beer competitions in the world, recognising only beer styles of European origin and unadulterated, characterful and high-quality beer. All breweries worldwide can take part, not just from Europe, but from all countries – anyone who feel committed to the traditional European style of brewing.
The variety of European beer styles is represented in different categories. Following the Olympic model, a jury of experts honours the best beers in each category with golf, silver and bronze. The organisers of the European Beer Star are the ‘Association Private Breweries in Germany’ and the ‘Association Private Breweries in Bavaria’ in cooperation with the ‘Association of Small and Independent Breweries on Europe’ (S.I.B.).
